Before you build, answer three questions.

Most founders start with the product. Features. Roadmaps. Tech stack.

Wrong order.

Start here:

  • Category. What’s the new and different market you want to own? Not compete in. Own.
  • Point of View. What do you stand for that nobody else does? How do you move people from how things were to how things should be?
  • Messaging. How do you communicate that POV? To who? When? Why should they care enough to act?

Product comes after. Tactics come after. Everything comes after.

Most founders skip this. They build first, position later. Then wonder why nobody gets what they do.

Get these three right and the rest gets easier. Get them wrong and no amount of execution saves you.
