Content Marketing For Beginners – The Blog Only Method

Date
November 2, 2022

I’m going to show you a great way to get started with content marketing using only a blog. This method is perfect for beginners because it’s relatively simple to set up and maintain, and it doesn’t require a lot of extra work beyond your blog posts. Plus, it’s a great way to get started building an audience and establishing yourself as an authority in your field.

How to Get Started with Content Marketing using Only a Blog

There are three main steps to getting started with content marketing using only a blog:

  1. Figure out what topics you want to write about.
  2. Write helpful, informative blog posts on those topics.
  3. Share your blog posts with your audience through email and social media.

‌That’s really all there is to it! Of course, there are some other details involved in each of those steps, but that’s the basic idea.

‌Let’s take a closer look at each step in more detail.

Step 1: Figure Out What Topics You Want to Write About

The first step is to figure out what topics you want to write about. This can be anything that you’re passionate about or have expertise in. If you’re not sure where to start, think about the questions people regularly ask you about your business or industry.

‌These make great topics for blog posts because they’re things that people are actually interested in learning more about.

‌We recommend using tools like Google Keyword Planner and ahrefs to help you figure out what topics people are searching for and what content is already popular on the web. This will give you a good starting point for creating your own blog posts.

‌Once you have a few ideas, narrow them down to the one or two that you think will be most popular with your audience, and that you feel most comfortable writing about.

Step 2: Write Helpful, Informative Blog Posts on Those Topics

Once you know what topics you want to write about, it’s time to start writing! When writing your blog posts, always keep your audience in mind and make sure that your content is helpful and informative.

‌Don’t just regurgitate information that’s already out there; instead, offer your own insights and perspectives on the topic at hand. Be sure to back up any claims you make with data or studies if possible. And finally, don’t forget to proofread your post before hitting publish!

‌We recommend using tools like Grammarly to help you with the editing and proofreading process.

‌Consistency will help grow your audience over time as people begin to recognize and trust your brand as a source of valuable information in your industry.

‌That leads us nicely to our next point…

Step 3: Share Your Blog Posts With Your Audience Through Email and Social Media

Congratulations – you’ve written your first blog post!

‌Now it’s time to share it with the world (or at least, your corner of it).

‌There are a number of ways to do this, but two of the most effective are email and social media.

  1. If you have an email list (even just a small one), send out an email containing your latest blog post along with a brief description of what readers can expect. This is a great way to get more eyes on your content as well as drive traffic back to your website or blog.
  2. Social media is also an excellent way to promote your content – and it’s free! Simply share each new blog post on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn using engaging headlines and captivating images (more on that later).

‌You can also boost reach by tagging relevant industry partners in your posts; they may share your content with their followers if they find it valuable.

‌As you can see, starting a content marketing program using only a blog is relatively simple and doesn’t require a lot of extra work beyond good research and writing quality posts. As mentioned before, consistency is key when using this method; try to publish new content on a regular schedule (weekly is ideal) so that readers know when they can expect new posts from you.

‌If you can stick with it, you’ll soon build up a sizeable archive of quality content – which will do wonders for boosting traffic levels and growing your topical authority over time!
